Elegant. Whimsical. Scrumptiously delicious! Vermont Sweet Tooth is a family business located in Stowe, Vermont. Baking is our life-long passion and it is our mission to create the desserts of your dreams! Whether for your wedding, special event, or after meal treat, our super-moist cakes, pure buttercream frosting, and exquisite handmade decorations will be a centerpiece of your affair, long remembered by you and your guests.
Marion began her career as a fashion designer on NYC’s 7th Avenue selling her line to Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman. Ironically, whenever interviewed, the discussions veered towards her passion for baking and editors would highlight her recipes alongside the photos of her stunning couture gowns!
Marion eventually left New York and the fashion world to spend more time with her husband, who had suffered a debilitating skiing accident. They moved to Vermont and, soon after, a request from a local restaurateur to sell her desserts--which he had tasted at one of her dinner parties--led to others. What was once a hobby transitioned suddenly into a new career path. Marion traded in her sewing pins, scissors, and silks for rolling pins, sugar, and spice… and everything nice... and everything edible!
When brides requested fresh flowers on their cakes she couldn't bare that people would ingest their toxic pesticides and preservatives so she taught herself how to sculpt decorations out of sugar. And like her couture gowns, the inside of these works of art are just as important as the outside. Whether the look is sassy or sophisticated, Marion’s creations are rich and bright and buzzing with flavor!
Marion’s wish is that her desserts--from the smallest mail order treat to the most grandiose one-of-a-kind wedding cake—give her patrons an unexpected drawn-out full-breath “oh my goshness that is soooo good” feeling at the experience of them. And she hopes that in that moment, her patrons sense the love, joy, and attention that went into their creation.
